OUR SERVICES

We offer a wide array of services that support clients in understanding, preventing, managing, and resolving conflict.

Our processes begin with an in-depth assessment of the current situation. Using the information gathered from the client, stake holders, and research-based best practices, we design and deliver interventions that address the issue at hand and result in healthier, more productive work environments.

Conflict Resolution Processes

Assessment

A thorough assessment is a critical first step in successfully addressing a problem. An assessment is an analytical tool that is utilized by KD practitioners to objectively evaluate the current state of a situation. It informs the formulation and implementation of actionable options and recommendations.

KD use a variety of instruments and techniques including:

Surveys

Paper and online, anonymous questionnaires that allow for gathering information from a large number of participants.

Interviews

One-on-one, confidential conversations between the practitioner and key stakeholders aimed at gathering information and differing view points on an existing situation.

Focus Groups

Bringing together a small, demographically diverse group of people who can provide insights into their experience and perspectives around an issue(s).

Organizational Climate Assessments

An analytical tool that allows organizations to assess their workplace culture on a number of variables such as employees understanding of diversity, the mission of the organization, and the working relationships across functions and within units.

Conflict Assessment Framework (CAF2)

Developed by USAID, the CAF2 is a unique methodological approach for implementing a conflict assessment to help its USAID missions and operating units better evaluate the risks for armed conflict, the peace and security goals that are most important in a given country context, how existing development programs interact with these factors, how the programs may (inadvertently) be doing harm, and where and how development and humanitarian assistance can most effectively support local efforts to manage conflict and to build peace.

Conflict and Development Analysis (CDA)

A tool that assists with analyzing a specific context and developing strategies for reducing or eliminating the impact and consequences of violent conflict.(United Nations Development Group)

Conflict Resolution Processes

These are tailored processes for specific situations and contexts. The selection of the process depends heavily on a robust assessment. KD Practitioners are skilled in explaining their choice of process.

Appreciative Inquiry

A change management approach that focuses on identifying what is working well, analyzing why it is working well and then building on the strengths of the individual and the organization.

Convening/Facilitation

IMG_9589.jpg

A process that focuses on bringing people together around a particular issue or set of issues and creating the space for constructive conversations through a facilitative process. The process is conducted by a trained, experienced facilitator who plans, develops, and structures the meetings so that they produce a clear result that is commonly understood and supported by participants. This process is appropriate for small and large groups working through strategic planning, change management, team projects, and group conflict.

Mediation/Facilitated Dialogue

A process in which a trained, experienced neutral supports parties in dispute to clarify issues, explore and evaluate options for resolution, and come to a mutually agreeable resolution.

Multi-Stakeholder Engagement

Structured processes that are used to ensure participation on a specific issue. They aim to ensure participatory equity, accountability and transparency, and the creation of partnerships and networks among different stakeholders for improved dialogue and decision-making in all stages of planning and implementation. (United Nations Development Programme)

Team Building

Through workshops and activities, KD practitioners work with groups and teams to align goals, build effective working relationships, clarify roles and responsibilities, and find solutions to team problems.
